Spring Valley High School Put on Lockdown, Student Arrested for “Prank” School Shooting Call

SPRING VALLEY, NY – A developing story out of Spring Valley. Spring Valley Police have confirmed that Spring Valley High School was put on lockdown yesterday (Thursday) after a student made a false call to 9-1-1 stating there was an active school shooting occurring.

Spring Valley Police officers immediately responded to the school and met with school staff and security at which point the school lock down was initiated.

Through the investigation handled by the School Resource Officer and Detective Bureau, it was learned that a Juvenile at the high school placed the phone call, and that it was a fake phone call.

The student was transported to the Spring Valley Police Department and they were charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident 2nd, an E Felony. He was released to his parents on an appearance ticket pending a future court date.

Ramapo Police Department Respond To An Assault With A Knife

On Thursday April 11, 2024, at approximately 8:27pm, the Ramapo Police Department responded to Trailside Place in the Town of Ramapo for the report of an assault with a knife. Upon the officers arrival, it was discovered that the victim had been accosted in his driveway by an unknown suspect. The victim was stabbed multiple times and removed from the scene to the hospital. Patrol officers located a possible suspect, and he was detained and brought to the Ramapo Police Department for questioning. The individual was cooperative and released from custody pending further investigation.
The victim is currently in stable condition and expected to survive. The Ramapo Police Department was assisted on scene by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, the Clarkstown Police Department, Hatzolah Ambulance Corps, and Chaverim of Rockland.

All information will be kept confidential and can be made anonymously. Information can also be provided through the TIPS 411 platform. Rockland County residents can submit a tip via text message by texting the keyword “ROCKLANDCODA” and then their tip and text it to 847411. The Ramapo Police Department has increased patrol presence throughout the Town.

Clarkstown Police Units Were Dispatched To Affinity Federal Credit Union For Alleged Fraud

Clarkstown Police units were dispatched to 35 Bardonia Rd. (Affinity Federal Credit Union) for an alleged fraud. The two suspects exited the bank and attempted to flee, as officers arrived one of the suspects was apprehended. The second suspect, a female wearing a hat with COLORADO on it, had left the scene. Several CPD officers had arrived on scene and began searching the area for her. During this time Bardonia Elementary was advised of the search for the suspect and they out of an abundance of caution immediately went into a Lockout. The lockout has been lifted, without further incident. The female suspect has not been located at this time.
