SPRING VALLEY, NY – On June 19, 2021, at approximately 8:40 pm, the Spring Valley Police Department responded to 101 Kennedy Dr. Apartment F7 for a report of a one-year-old child that was trapped between a bed and the wall. Responding officers located the child who was unresponsive and still trapped.
The Spring Valley Fire Department was also dispatched to aid in freeing the child. Once the child was extricated, life saving measures began immediately. The child was transported to Nyack Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation revealed that the child was left in the custody of his six-year-old sibling without any adult supervision. The mother of the child, a 36 year old Spring a Valley woman was arrested and charged with Manslaughter, a Class C Felony.

HAVERSTRAW, NY – The Haverstraw Police Department has announced the arrest of Sugundo Landi-Lucer (pictured), 43-years-old of Queens, New York in connection with the fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred in the early the morning of November 23, 2021 on Route 9W in the Village of Haverstraw.
The victim has been identified by family members as beloved longtime resident 82-Year-Old Juan Alberto Germosen

Village of Spring Valley Employees Indicted on Felony Charges
SPRING VALLEY EMPLOYEES INDICTED ON FELONY CHARGES
Indictments Are Part of the Evergreen Fire Investigation
Rockland County District Attorney Tom Walsh announced the indictments of two Village of Spring Valley building department employees. A Rockland County Grand Jury handed the indictments as a result of the continuing investigation into the fatal fire that occurred in March at the Evergreen Adult Home in Spring Valley.
Defendant Raymond Canario, 45, was indicted on 3 counts of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, 3 counts of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the Second Degree, and 3 counts of Falsifying Business Records in the Second Degree.
Defendant Wayne Ballard, 64, was indicted on 1 count of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, 1 count of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the Second Degree, and 1 count of Falsifying Business Records in the Second Degree.
Rockland County District Attorney Tom Walsh said,” These indictments are a result of the continuing investigation into the fatal fire that claimed the lives of a volunteer firefighter and a resident of the Evergreen home. My office continues to work hard, following through on our commitment to leave no stone unturned in this tragic incident.”
Arraignment dates have not yet been provided for either Defendant.

Assistant District Attorney Ryan Sweeney.
