NYACK, NY – Meet the Village of Nyack’s Newest Resident!

She’s a 3 month old kunekune pig who is already a celebrity in the Village. She joins her famous goat 🐐 siblings – Scout and Sawyer as support animals in a program called “pets for purpose” at the Summit School in Nyack.

Her best friends are Moose (a boxer) and Rudy (a golden doodle), who she follows around and emulates. So if you see them for a walk in Nyack, say hello 👋!

National Puppy Day March 23rd Love. Rescue. Adopt.

Each year on March 23rd, National Puppy Day celebrates the unconditional love, affection and joy puppies bring to our lives. Their hugs, tugs and wiggles make us smile and without a doubt there is nothing but delight when there are puppies around!

This day also brings awareness to the need for care of and homes for orphaned pups as well as to educate people about the horrors of puppy mills across the country. Puppies are a huge responsibility. Remember to consider everything involved and adopt from a shelter. The puppies there need love and a home just as much as any other and they become loyal pets, too!

According to the ASPCA, approximately 3.3 million dogs enter shelters every year. Some of these dogs come with litters of puppies. If you’re seeking a puppy to start your furry family, check the shelters first. When these abandoned and abused animals find their way to a shelter, each one needs a forever home and their potential is limitless.

Throwback: Do you remember the Rain Forest Cafe in the Palisades Mall?

In 1998 the Palisades Mall Opened in West Nyack, NY. The restaurant was one of the 12 original restaurants when the mall opened. Walking into the RAINFOREST CAFE, one was enveloped by lush vegetation, simulated thunder and lighting, rain showers, majestic rock formations, Tracy the Talking Tree, whimsical butterflies, animatronic crocodiles, playful animated primates and elephants, along with the sounds and smells of a tropical rain forest, all set amongst a backdrop of enormous salt water aquariums, cascading waterfalls and larger-than-life Banyan trees. It would close in 2002.
